This page provides locality information compiled from various sources, mainly literature, but also online databases and personal communication. To retrieve data for some species of interest, 1) mark its checkbox, 2) optionally select a colour bullet as map icon, and 3) press [Submit Selection]. The records listed for the selected species have the following general pattern:
- country: location (latitude, longitude) — "stated locality", collector, date, specimen and locality notes [references] — further localities assigned to this location...
In the case of multiple citations for a single locality, the "stated locality" is a meaningful combination of phrases from all sources rather than a verbose quotation from a single one.
